ARBOR HOMES
Arbor Homes Artist Dennis Smith was commissioned in 2005 through Boody Fine Arts' artist selection process to create a site-specific, bronze Civil War monument for Arbor Homes' Georgetown Park. This new, 7 1/2 acre housing development is located in the City of Dardenne Prairie, within the County of St. Charles, Missouri. Landscape architect firm Landscape Technologies partnered with the team to build the site.

At 1 1/4 life-size, the memorial stands at approximately 10' tall. The appropriately titled work, America's Story, depicts two soldiers, one representing the Northern Alliance and the other from the Southern Rebellion. Smith created a monument reflecting the men's hope and optimism near the end of the war, which deeply affected our Nation.

Dennis Smith is as much a philosopher as he is an artist. His work is a window into who he is and his views on life. His impressionistic style captures his exuberance for life and embodies his passion for transcendence-expressed through the spontaneity of children, reflections of the past, and hopes for the future.
