stcharlescity In recognition of the Bicentennial Celebration of Lewis and Clark's historic 1804 Expedition, The Corp of Discovery, The St. Charles Parks and Recreation Foundation commissioned Pat Kennedy's 15' Spirit of Discovery monument for the Lewis and Clark Landing where the explorers began their epic journey.

Boody Fine Arts submitted artists to the St. Charles Parks and Recreation Foundation's Request for Qualifications (RFQ). Three of the six short-listed artists were submitted by Boody Fine Arts. Sculptor Pat Kennedy of Loveland, Colorado, was chosen to sculpt this historical monument.

Installed in spring of 2003, Kennedy's double life-size sculpture of Meriwether Lewis, William Clark and their Newfoundland dog named Seadog, portrays them in all their glory.
